Ancient Roman weapons and armor
The Roman army contained legions of soldiers clothed in armor consisting of lorica segmentata (body armor), a galea (helmet), and a scutum (shield). They would carry weapons such as a pilum (javelin), a gladius (short sword), and a pugio (dagger). (1- Scutum; 2- The sword of Tiberius; 3- Roman gladius; 4- The plumbata; 5- Roman pugio).
