Cattle egret
The cattle egret is a cosmopolitan species of heron found in the tropics, subtropics, and warm-temperate zones. The egrets are migratory birds, gathering in flocks with other ardeid species. These birds can come to a fire from far away in order to catch fleeing insects. According to a study, conducted in Australia, feeding upon insects, these birds significantly reduce the number of flies that peck cattle off their skin.
