Chevrolet Corvette Stingray 1963
The Chevrolet Corvette (C2) 1963 model marked the beginning of the second generation of the sports car's history and was the first time a Corvette would be offered in coupe form. The 1963 Chevy Corvette was the final result of more than a half-decade’s worth of research both on and off the racetrack. Conceived by Bill Mitchell and Zora Arkus-Duntov, the second-generation Corvette literally evolved from a racecar – namely the Stingray racer that Mitchell created (and privately funded out of his own pocket).
