Hilton of Cadboll Stone
The Hilton of Cadwall stone is a monumental stele with symbols and patterns carved into it, discovered at village on Scotland's east coast. It is a magnificent specimen of a Pictish cross-stone, dating from about 800 AD. The Picts were a tribal confederation of people who lived in present-day eastern and northern Scotland during the late Iron Age and early Middle Ages. The stone has two sides. The sea-facing side has a Christian cross and the land-facing side has secular images.
