Narcissus
Narcissus is native to northern Europe and are grown in temperate climates around the world. Although unsupervised ingestion of daffodils can be fatal, modern medicine have used extracts from the flower to treat Alzheimer's disease. The daffodil is the national flower of Wales and the symbol of cancer charities in many countries. The appearance of the wild flowers in spring is associated with festivals in many places.
