The Secret Meeting is an oil painting by Jean-Honoré Fragonard. It dates to 1771-1773. Fragonard was hired to paint a series of panels for the chateau at Louveciennes, the home of Madame du Barry. She wanted paintings that depicted the four stages of love, The Pursuit, The Meeting, The Consummation/Marriage, and The Love Letters. This here is The Meeting, in which the girl sneaks out of her house to hook up with the guy who has just scaled her wall.
