Roseate spoonbill
The roseate spoonbill is a gregarious wading bird of the ibis and spoonbill family. It is a resident breeder in both South and North America. Spoonbills fly in long diagonal lines with their necks and legs completely stretched out. It is thought that the roseate spoonbill receives its bright coloring from the pigments of the crustaceans that it eats. The roseate spoonbill sleeps standing, usually on one leg, with its head tucked beneath its back and shoulder feathers.
